I am living in Karachi and the best university people here know is NED. But the thing is in current HEC ranking NED is not even in the top 10 unis. Although I might chose a uni outside Karachi but I would prefer getting a good uni in karachi first. Some people claim that HEC is paid by some unis to publish the rankings while others have the opinion that NED has lost its shine though its degree is worth taking anyway.
My question is that is there any other better-than-NED uni in karachi? Or should I be going in NED no-matter-what ?

there is NUST for mechanical and electrical dow and agha khan for medical and IBA for commerce and fast and iba for computing

Sir, NUST karachi is not what it used to be. And no one likes going there now. And I am only interested in Engineering ones

One of my friend who is STILL there. He says he wants to quit NUST khi. And other students also told me that most of the good faculty has left.

To your question, there in no better university in engineering than NED in Karachi, NUST must be good but not in comparison to NED. If your first preference is Karachi, then NED is the only good choice you have ( I am saying this as you have already said that NUST is no good anymore). Another thing that i would like to add, don't go on rankings by HEC only, give this thing a thorough research and then make your decision.

NED used to be a good university, politics has ruined it's reputation. I don't think there are any good engineering universities in Karachi but if I would have been given an option, I'd have chosen NUST.
