guys , is the scalar product of vector in our syllabus? the OA.OB thingy , to find cos of an angle??

and here's a question on interger : //

The roots of the equation x^2 - 28^(1/2) x + 2 = 0 are p and q , where p>q. without using a calculator , express p/q in the form of m + n^(1/2) , where m and n are intergers. THANK YOU.

Hmm.. I don't think that that is included in the syllabus because i've never come across such a question in past papers. Frankly, i dont even know what that is.
Secondly, to solve the next question:
x = -(-28^(1/2)) +/- {(-28^(1/2)) - 4(1)(2)}^(1/2) application of x = [-b +/- (b^2 - 4ac)^(1/2)] / 2a
When simplified this makes: x = 7^(1/2) +/- 5^(1/2)
Since p > q, p= 7^(1/2) + 5^(1/2) and q is the other value.
By rationalising the denominator of p/q, you will get 6 + 35^(1/2). So here you go... :)

No, scalar product is not included in o-level, so don't worry about it, but u wil find in AS-level if u continue with maths.
