Urgent :Can I take C34,S1,M1 in may after taking C12 in January ?

Hello friends
I am going to take IAL C12 in January 2014. Will Edexcel allow me to take C34, S1, M1 after completing only C12 ? Someone said me that I have to take at least C12 and S1 in January if I want to take C34 and M1 in may. Accordng to him C12 and S1 (or other unit) is needed to complete the AS level and I can't take A2 units without taking AS units. Is it true ?
