What are the normal thresholds for Physics?

There is no A* for a single component, so I will just write them all out of 200 based on previous years and assuming you do Papers 1, 3 and 6:
A* is around 145-150
A is around 130- 135
B is around 110-105
So if you lose 50 marks, you still get an A*!

but why are they out of 200 if the papers add up to a total mark of 160?

So if I get 150/200 , and the boundary is 150
will it say 75% A*
or 90 percentile A*?

It will simply say PHYSICS A*
nothing else , the percentage and percentile aren't mentioned on the report only grades are

yeah i've given 2 exams before i got As in them both. .. so as long your from IGCSE , the percentage/percentile/marks wont be mentioned on report

I gave Pakistan Studies and Islamiyat last year
and I'm giving English,Urdu,Biology,Physics,Chemistry and Mathemetics this year
I was going to ask the same thing. Why is it on 200?omg really? thanks so much ;o
but why are they out of 200 if the papers add up to a total mark of 160?

There most certainly isn't... though when the grade thresholds get released.. you can see what boundaries was your Grade placed in. you'll get some idea

I am not sure about the 160 thing, but in grade boundaries they say that the total mark for this syllabus is out of 200. But if an A* is only dropping 10 marks, we are screwed! x.x

There is weightage for each paper!
For physics, Paper 6 = 20% , it is out of 40, so converted to 20
Paper 3 = 50%, it is out of 80, so converted to 50
Paper 1 = 30%, it is out of 40, so converted to 30
The total is now 100, so multiplied by 2, so that it become 200 as mentioned in threshold
(OR just multiply the sum of marks obtained by 1.25, many ways actually)

for physics the average for past years is 120/160 for an A*
