m1 is mechanics one
s1 is statistics one
when taking As you must have a combination of p1 and s1
or
p1 and m1

there are three options if u are doin AS level maths only..!! p1 and s1 or P1 and M1 or P1 and P2.....( p2 is only allowed if u are doin AS only) ....and then..for doin whole A level maths....u choose ur paper acc to the papers u have chosen in AS...
