why it is much safer to hold a hot dish with a dry cloth rather than a wet one

yeah bcoz wet cloth wont insulate the heat as heat will be transferred due to convection...this is what i think...nt 100% sure

from Physics point of view , dry cloth traps air it the fabrics and Air is a poor conductor to heat hence it would transfer heat at a very low rate
while on the other hand water have low specific heat capacity thus it would quickly heat up as compared to the dry cloth
that is why it is save to hold th hot dish with dry cloth
