ﺑﺴﻢ ﺍﷲ ﺍﻟﺮﲪﻦ ﺍﻟﺮﺣﻴﻢ
Whereas, the sanctity of Islam and Muslims is being violated in myriad ways -innocents are being killed, graves are being desecrated, the social fabric of many Muslim societies is being torn asunder, and the honorable life and legacy of our Prophet, Muhammad, peace upon him, is being assailed in unprecedented and increasingly egregious ways; whereas, collectively, these outrages demonstrate a lack of mercy, compassion and empathy, along with a demeaning of the prophetic legacy; whereas, one of the greatest means we possess to invite the mercy of God into our lives and into our world is the Salawat on the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah upon him); we declare Sunday, November 4, 2012, Worldwide Salawat upon Muhammad Day. (Sall-Allahu 'alayHi waSallam)
To commemorate this day, we encourage all Muslims to gather in their mosques, centers and homes for Magrib prayers and then to individually or collectively recite 2,000 Salawats on the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah upon him) using the following formula:
اللّهُمّ صَلّ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ
Allahumma Salli 'Alaa Muhammad
(O Allah! Bless Muhammad)
We believe that by collectively sending tens of millions, if not billions of Salawats on the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah upon him), the silent majority of the world's Muslims can make an unprecedented appeal in the real theater of power. By so doing, we will, Insha Allah, invite the direct aid of our Lord, bring about a cosmic shift that will affect the balance of worldly power and bring about a divine opening that will bring comfort and healing to the hearts of the believers. Join us in this historic event.

[Note: If pledging and reciting 2000 is too much, then recite 1000, or 500 or at least 300. Don't let the 'shaytan of time' or the 'shaytan of effort' fool you; it only takes 3-5 minutes and you have a whole day to do so. Just do it and take part!
And share this with all your friends, relatives, associates and on your Facebook/Twitter! Spread the word; remember the incalculable rewards in all this! You will insha' Allah have the pleasure of Allah and His Messenger, Sall-Allahu 'alayHi waSallam - and that's all you need really - plus, for each salawaat you recite, 10 good deeds are written for you, 10 sins are erased, 10 spiritual ranks are raised and Allah Himself sends 10 blessings upon you in return. And a single blessing from the Infinite Allah is Infinite, so what about 10?
Plus the more people recite because of you, you will get their rewards in addition to yours!
Plus, all scholars of Islam are agreed that Allah may accept or reject any deed, except Salawaat upon His Beloved, Sall-Allahu 'AlayHi waSallam - which He always accepts, because of His unending and incomparable Love for Sayyiduna Muhammad Habibullah, Sall-Allahu 'alayHi waSallam. So all of the rewards above are guaranteed!
Plus and most importantly, this is the least you can do - honor the Chosen One, the Celebrated Mercy, the Travelling Light, God bless Him and greet Him with peace, Who suffered so much in Makkah and at Ta'if, just so you could be saved from Allah's infinite wrath and unending torment. Who, God bless Him and greet Him with eternal peace, fought bravely with the unbelievers just so that the message of Islam would reach you. Who, God bless Him and greet Him with peace, lived a life of such excellence that He gave you an example to follow and please God with. Who, God bless Him and greet Him with peace, prayed to Allah 700 times for your forgiveness - and this was when He was standing upon the Throne of Allah, beyond the Cedar-Tree of the Furthermost Boundary, on the Night of Mi'raaj!!! Who else could think about anyone else, let alone an entire ummah, when standing in the Infinite Presence of God, the Eternal, the Beautiful, Himself? - except, of course, Muhammad, the Continuously Praised and Thanked One, Sall-Allahu 'alayHi waSallam! He loves you more than both your parents combined.
And as a Pious Scholar once wrote, "Invoking blessing and peace upon the Prophet (may Allah bless him and give him peace) is an infinitesimal recompense of his right upon us, and of the thanks which we owe for the grace which Allah has bestowed upon us by sending him (may Allah bless him and give him peace), although what he truly deserves is innumerable, either for us to comprehend or to bestow, or even to will. However Allah, because of His Boundless Generosity, is pleased with his bondsmen even with the small amount of thanks they can offer."]
