XTRA SUBJECTS??????

A LOT MANY PEOPLE SAY THERE IS NO BENEFIT TO GIVE EXTRA SUBJECTS WHEN YOU APPLY FOR UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES ABROAD.I WANT TO GIVE SOCIOLOGY AND URDU (A) AS AN EXTRA SUBJECT...IF ANY OF MY SUBJECT LACKS A GOOD GRADE IN 8 OF MY CORE SUBJECTS WILL ANY OF (A) ACHIEVED IN THESE TWO COMPENSATE FOR THAT.I THINK THERE IS SOME BENEFIT THAT'S WHY PEOPLE STUDY EXTRA SUBJECTS.ALSO EXPLAIN ME THE CREDIT SYSTEM FOR SUBJECTS.

First turn off your Caps Lock!

Secondly , Urdu A will not be considered an extra subject . I assume your taking Urdu B as a major , in that case even if you have a distinction in Urdu B , and let's say a B in Urdu A ( hope you get better than this) . All Universities will ignore your distinction and consider the B as your real grade . So giving both Urdu A and B , will render your efforts for the grade in Urdu B as useless! So you might wanna think about that .

Extra Subjects are only for a label . You give 12 subjects , you get 10 A's! Everybody praises your effort . But the universities and colleges will only give weightage to your major subjects . So in the end , the extras don't do you much good .

Rest is upto you.

there are some benefits of giving extra subjects...i would recommend u to go for the subjects which are helpful ...don't go for islamic religion and culture if u r giving islamiyat and in the same way don't go for combined sciences if u r giving chem,phy and bio....hope u understood my point.....so there is no harm in giving extra subjects but make sure u make the right choice.....i would suggest u to go for add maths and sociology as additional subjects if u are interested in taking extra subjects....

HY thanks for giving such a well-explained answer.What would u recommend that i should give add maths and sociology instead because they are major subjects ,at least add maths is?I think sociology has also good credits?Thank you!
