Well, what I do is read many articles from respected news outlet like Time, Ney York times, and the like to improve my English vocabulary as well as grammar and punctuation. I went through 4 small English books as well on grammar, but you can find smaller, and better lessons from Khan academy in my opinion.
I also found this neat blog which helped me and can probably help you all as well:https://younisfarid.files.wordpress.com/2015/12/olevel-english-1123-standards-booklet.pdf
Besides that, yea just do past papers and get them checked by your teacher, or just search up google on 'model narrative essays' or any other essays and check out the links.
If you do use Google, make sure not to copy the way people paragraph their essays, just look at their English and content.
All the best :)

Yes...... In order to improve your writing skills you need to practice a lot.
Write stories and directed writings at least twice or thrice a week.(There is no need to write one essay daily as English takes a lot of time it will reduce your concentration on other 7 subjects).
What really inspired me to work on my english was the following website
https://www.descriptionari.com
On this you can search for any scene you want to describe and it will give the best samples
e.g You can describe the night scene like:

I found the darkness strange. Living in the heart of a city, I had grown used to having the warming, orange glow of streetlamps outside my window, their light filtering in through the gaps in the curtains. This was a blackness that I couldn't recall seeing before - one that was almost absolute. When I tilted my head skyward I could see clearly millions of bright stars dotted on the black canvas of night, yet none of that light seemed to filter far enough down to make any difference when I turned my eyes away.

Hope it helps.

English is really fun and interesting, if you're willing to spend time on it, that is. For instance if you want to write a narrative, don't just tell what's going on, show it, through your words, ofc.
For example: The fireworks lit up the night sky.
If you describe it, it would look like this:
I watch the sky crying shattered tears. Its sobs exploded like dandelions, which looked like prismatic ballerinas; their swift and elegant movements creating an awe-inspiring kaleidoscope of colour. (Yes I wrote this myself! 😃)
See what I did there?
Anyways, practice is the key. You'll get the hang of it eventually.
Moreover, try to read novels and articles as you'll discover new vocabulary, imagery, descriptive phrases etc.
Anyways, I wrote this in a jiffy, so there might be somethings I haven't elaborated enough. I'll try to update as soon as I can.
All the best!!
