significance of gradient ?
ANy one?
And why do we calculate the gradient
I said to see wether they are proportional or not

And signigicance i said it is 1/nrt,1/constant

i think the answer was pretty obvious but it was soo obvious that i was scared to write it. I think it was to find the value for the constant!

My ans is.
since the graph of 1/v vs p is curve so gradient varied. And it dont verified the boyle's law
1/v vs p was not curved... it was a straight line, but yeh it was a line of best fit so the initial gradient mattered to show the direct proportionality... and the significance was that it was the constant in the boyle's law

Significance of the gradient: I wrote that it is the reciprocal of the constant k, 1/k

Why the graph V against P is inappropriate to confirm Boyle's Law: The graph is an exponential curve: we cannot be totally sure if the graph obtained is correct; we will have to calculate gradient at various points to confirm; this is why it is inappropriate

Why we need to calculate the initial slope? Anyone?

I said to it is 1/constant for signeficance
But for why we calculate the gradient i wrote to find the constant of proportionality for narrow range of pressure and volume change

Yeah, I also wrote to confirm the proportionality relationship initially as beyond certain pressure, the gas stops behaving ideally

Is tht rite i think it should be because the question had 2 marks so ya
1 mark for narrow range of pressure and temprature and other one for proportional
