    Biology Paper1 (AFTER EXAM DISCUSSION)

Well, obviously no one knows the grade boundary for this year. But my teacher said to be on the safe side, 80% is always an A*. You never know, this year might have been an easier year, in which case the grade boundary could shoot up to like 76-78%. Though I hope it's as low as 75%! :D...

    Biology Paper1 (AFTER EXAM DISCUSSION)

Some of the countries are being tested for percentage uniform marks, but for the majority, they shall only be implemented from Oct/Nov 2010. Click here for the document I created using the grade thresholds from previous years to determine the A* grade boundary for IGCSE Biology for the previous...

For sewage, it isn't about eutrophication. It's when sewage means increase in bacteria, they respire aerobically, and so use up the oxygen. Closest point to source of sewage is B. If it was D, as water flows downstream, mixes with 'fresh' water, so less sewage concentration.

Could you not click on the image directly? It should give you the full size. It was pre-2000 IGCSE paper.

Yes, agreed with your 2 above statements. What's "emp."?

    Biology Paper1 (AFTER EXAM DISCUSSION)

Consider this past question, the answer was C. As growth is defined as increase in number of cells, we may be right in the answer of D for our question. Click on the picture to see full size (it is cut off here).

I think C was at the bottom of the graph, like the straight bit, I think.

    Biology Paper1 (AFTER EXAM DISCUSSION)

My thoughts for the exam: Question about which stage was growth. I put D, as at this point, the dry mass was higher than the start (A), and so in IGCSE growth can be defined as an increase in dry mass. Question afterwards about why increase in mass, I said absorption of water, as it didn't...

    Physics paper3: the discussion.

I hope Chemistry Paper 3 bucks this year's trend and I hope CIE makes the exam at least do-able and reasonable this time!

Hey, calm down dear, you're the one who's angry! (BTW, writing in Caps is rude). Quoting my words "may be wrong", only maybe, you maybe right, you maybe wrong, I never said you were wrong, just calm down dear! Can anyone confirm then whether a displacement reaction can occur when the...

Chemistry paper1 [discussion here] after exam

I don't get your reasoning, how can gaining one more electron means it becomes a totally different element? That's what it means isn't it, by moving one position to the right, you have to gain a proton to do so.

LOL, you're confused. Your method is perfectly valid, if you look clearly I was saying that M.S.Princess93's may not work! :P

Can you please tell me what was the question and what were the 4 options. Also what does cocentrating the solution mean? Adding more solute or adding more solvent?

Chemistry paper1 [discussion here] after exam

OK, that question is totally obvious. Look at a periodic table, take an element, for example Potassium, it has a proton number of 19. If it gains a proton, then it move one element to the right of that, which is Calcium, with a proton number of 20. I hope that answers your question. Do...
