You do C.C in a normal distribution when you convert a binomial distribution question into normal distribution

    guesses about tomorw's paper stats???????

I am thinking its going to be really hard. 62 takers bewareee!!

    STATS question!

We are using approximation here because you will convert this binomial distribution into normal distribution. So when that happens, we apply contunity correction and hence approximation.

Its like within one standard deviation, 68% of the values are within this range or 0.68. Within two standard deviations, its 95% of the date (values) or 0.95 and then within three SD its 99.99% or 0.99

    I think he means Normal distribution probabilities. Its 68% - 95 % - 99.9% regarding mean + 1.S.D, Mean +2 S.D, Mean + 3 S.D respectively

    Maths S1 M/J10 Solve please

P is permutation where arrangement is important (ordering is important). Usually found when you are placing people in a row or whichever situation requires order However combination (C) is where arrangement is NOT important and usual events involving it are people being selected in a group, etc.

Points are not for normal distribution. They are for Binomial Distribution actually These are the following points: 1) A finite number , n, trials to be carried out 2) The Trials are independent 3) The outcome of each trial is deemed either a success or a failure 4) The probability, p, of a...

(0.3)^9 + (0.7)^9 is taken because in other words it is 9C9 x (0.7)^0 x (0.3)^9 and (0.7)^9 is 9C0 x(0.3)^0x(0.7)^9 so you see 9C9 x (0.7)^0 = 1 and 9C0 x(0.3)^0 = 1. thats why the full form is not written in the marking scheme. And both the parts were added as the word "or" was used in the...

    MODULUS IN S1

Nope modulus is not part of the syllabus except for in normal distribution equation. However logs is part of the syllabus ( telling all the non p3 folks out there)
