Your avatar caught my attention. I'm a writer and I'm writing on women. Its a book i'm working on, fiction actually-based on fact- & i'm doing pretty much of my research and data collection out in the society. And im targeting women in the patriarchal, male chauvinist pathan society, where they are mostly supressed just because they are the 'weaker sex'.

Im hoping to ask your opinions on different things inshallah whenever i need to. I might be needing lots of Quranic and Sunnah references too.

my basic focus is on the need to educate especially women in our society. Alot many people believe women are meant to be ultimately mothers and wives and so they need not be as well educated as men.

I want to highlight the importance of classroom in a girl's life. How she can be all she wants to be- writer, artist, pilot, whatnot- when she sits infront of a teacher who inspires courage in her, unlike her family or society members.

How we cannot change the ways of our ansestors, or the traditions and culture that prevail since time unknown, but we can change how a girl takes them in, and form her own paradigms and perspectives.

For that, I think I can help you with it... and it's true women need to be educated too.. May Allah help you and keep you upon Haq.
anyway there is something I learnt that hit me... it was that "the present of a nation is in the hands of its men and it's future depends upon its women.."

If a teacher succeeds in just educating this one girl, he changes the entire world for that one girl. And this way he may change generations to come.

Thats my point. There is just too much gender discrimination here too. This boy who was killed recently by his father, was badly spoild by his mother. He was the only son.

Thankyou for your kindness. May Allah protect you from the wordly filth and grant you wisdom. Ameen.

True.. I h8 gender discrimination.. esp how u must have seen some ppl get sad if daughters are born... and happy when sons r born.. That is so sad considering it's just like jahili Arab culture that quran speaks against (their burrying their daughters).. and also Allah's mesenger S.A.W told us how daughters protect their parents from fire...

Exactly. My point is just because we send our children to school, we think we are doing them a great favor and "educating" them. Pople donot know the difference between having a degree and being actually educated. We are Muslims because we were born in a Muslim family. How many of us tried to discover Allah on our own?
