wrong area under limits of -4 to 0 is 128/3 area under limits of 0 to 2 is 20/3. 148/3 is 49 something.

    Maths C2 discussion!! :)

well those answers are correct but you have to give most to 1 dp and if you rounded wrong you will loose marks.

yeah think my x was 11/4

    Maths C2 discussion!! :)

no he is probably wrong, and we had to find y in terms of a and value of x

    what you get for logs?
  6. B

    Maths C2 discussion!! :)

for the 4cos2+2cos-1 . You use quadratic formula cosx=0.39 and -0.89 or something then do the normal CAST diagram for each I got 4 values

what did you lot get for the Logs question?

    Maths C2 discussion!! :)

for the length PT I got 20m as I assumed the center of the circle was (-5,9) found the distance from Center C to P which was 20.612m then used Pythagoras 425-25 = 400 so pt is 20

    Point P was (8,-7)

Did everyone get 6.249 or something by using trapezium rule and then when f(x)+4 it was shifted up 4 units so you add the new area which was 4*3=12 giving 12+6.249 = 18.2?

how though? It didn't say that the point P was directly to the right of the center of the circle?

yes haha, how did you find it anyway? I thought it was pretty good and everything was do-able. For the last question did people assume that P was on the line of the center of the circle? And got -5,9 but not sure that's right. The logs were really simple and so was the trigonometric graphs.

Yes well this paper was easier/ similar to the Jan 2013 one, maybe because all candidates take it in June boundary might be at 63/75, don't see it any lower than that. And don't worry Edexcel have sent out two paper for different time zones this year to prevent cheating.

Yes they ECF. But anyone else confirm this?
  19. B

    M1 today

55 for an A at the most. It cancelled out for the acceleration but I'm not sure it did for Tension.

    M1 today

    It was 11.76M N. Direction of the force was 45 Degrees and I didn't get 0.275. I got 0.72. S=990 U=0 A= T=50
