alright man..the d orbitals contain electrons so when a ligand comes close to the central ion of the transition metal the lone pairs on the ligand repels the electrons in the d orbitals and this causes the d orbitals to split into 5 orbitals..3 at low level and 2 at high level..the energy gap... -

hey there.. a) iodine is purple so the colourless solution will turn purple.. b) only reactants of the slow reaction gets written down in our rate equation so for reaction one we got one mole of hydrogen peroxide and one mole of iodide ion but no moles of hydrogen ions so it will not be... -

oh nope i don't think CIE treat it that way. they dont pick ur top marks from each component :P they either take the full AS u did last year with ur A2 u did this year or ur full AS u did this year with the A2 u did this year. but not some papers from last year and some from this year -
