A level Biology: Post your doubts here!

All you have to do is measure the distance and use the equation I=AM, I being image length (the thing you've measured), A being actual length and M the magnification. And you have to make sure that they're all in the same units.

    Chemistry: Post your doubts here!

Make sure you use the correct units. It doesn't necessarily have to be on the right or left side; it'll be on the side of the -CO2. For example, an ester will be like this: acid-CO2-alcohol, or alcohol-O2C-acid. The C of the CO2 will be part of the c. acid.

    Chemistry: Post your doubts here!

6 is done simply by using pV=nRT. Compound Z is an ester, so the answer can be either C or D. D shows an ester formed using propanoic acid and C shows an ester formed using hexanoic acid. Compound X has 6 Carbons.

P1 MCQ's preparation thread for chemistry ONLY!!!!

I didn't read the question properly. The question asks which alcohol will give the largest number of alkenes when dehydrated. A, B, C & D can all be dehydrated, but some will give more alkenes than others. For example, A & D can give only one alkene, because the C of the COH is attached to only...

P1 MCQ's preparation thread for chemistry ONLY!!!!

Argh, I apologise. This isn't the first time this has happened! Anyway: 6. The volume of O2 is more, so there must have been more moles of H2O2. More moles -> higher concentration. 25. If an alcohol is to be dehydrated, the C of the C-OH must be attached to a C attached to an H atom.

The centre of the screen is always a maximum because the path difference of the waves = o so they're exactly in phase.

    Here's a way of doing it: s=u^2/2a. Assume that u = 300 and a = 50. s will then = 900. Increasing 300 by 20% will make it 360. If a stays the same, s = 1296. 1296/900=1.44.

P1 MCQ's preparation thread for chemistry ONLY!!!!

    6. The answer is A because you see from the a/t graph that acceleration becomes constant at 1/2T. In B the acceleration becomes 0 at 1/2 T, in C the velocity is zero & in D there's increasing acceleration throughout. 25. The fundamental frequency is when lambda is 1/4. Not sure about 21 but 31: a polymer is many monomers, so you'll need much more than one mole of a monomer to get 1 polymer. With 1 mole of monomer, you'll get any number of polymers less than 1, e.g. 0.00001 moles.
