After you get the equation you let cos@ (theta) = y. You'll get a quadratic. 4y^2 + 2y - 1 I think it was, not sure though. You'll need to use the quadratic formula to solve this. You get two decimals, 0.609 or whatever. Then you say cos@ (theta) = your answers and then solve for theta :) -

I GOT THE FRIKKIN TRAPEZIUM RULE WRONG! and guess what the worst part is? The trapezium rule is IN THE FORMULAE BOOKLET! And the other stuff like g(y) and whatever, I still don't get where on earth you do the calculation in that? If suppose 2(3^3) + 4(3^2) - 18 = 0, and 2(3^3y) + 4(3^2y) -... -

So apparently the paper was leaked, and now edexcel has sent the centers a completely different paper. Wonder if the original one would have been nicer :/ why do people do this. -

Hmm, I guess. Geometric sequences annoy me cuz they're so wordy. and then I mess them up. But trig's alright if you know the two main identities. It just takes a little while to figure out :) -
