    CIE- A Level June 2013 Mathematics P1 9707/12

I'm just quite surprised, that's all. I mean P1 was held around 6th May, and here you have the question paper and answers up in 10 days or so. Awesome!!!! (y) You wouldn't happen to have the solutions to May/June 2013 P3, would you?:D

What I say to CIE: The mind is not a book, to be opened at will and examined at leisure.

    Retake Confusion...please HELP!

Well if you asked CIE and they responded in the affirmative, then you're probably right. Best of luck! Cheers!

    Retake Confusion...please HELP!

Not to disappoint you or anything, but I don't think CIE will 'choose' your best grade. I'm giving my A2 exams right now, and it clearly states on my statement of entry under each subject code: 'June AS mark carried forward'. So you had to specify when you were registering: do you wan't to use...

    Mathematics: Post your doubts here!

    I found this.http://ncalculators.com/math-worksheets/how-to-calculate-class-interval-arithmetic-mean.htm errrrrrr........

    Mathematics: Post your doubts here!

I've watched the video. It still doesn't make sense. If you take the class boundaries as 0 and 9.5, you'll get the midpoint as 4.75, whereas the mark scheme clearly states it as 4.5. That's what I don't understand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Mathematics: Post your doubts here!

Not 10.5, 9.5! And you're right about these different markschemes. I guess there's nothing we can do.... Btw if you could just provide me with some sort of link, some reference etc I'd be quite satisfied :) Thanks anyway :)

    Mathematics: Post your doubts here!

Youtube doesn't work here mate :p I have all these examsolutions videos downloaded, though. It's gonna take me some time to find it. Hold on!

    Mathematics: Post your doubts here!

So you support Dug's theory that class boundaries aren't required when calculating midpoints? I am considering 0. It's driving me mental!

    Mathematics: Post your doubts here!

No. I was thinking of something along the lines of -0.5-9.5. You need class boundaries! The negative confuses me, yes. The only possible reason I can think of is negative marking :p On a serious note, I don't quite understand the negative part.

    Mathematics: Post your doubts here!

Mate look: if you have two classes such as 10-19 and 20-29, then their class boundaries should be 9.5-19.5 and 19.5-29.5. That's what I was taught. I think you would concur.

    Mathematics: Post your doubts here!

Yeah I know, and that's what confuses me the most!

    Mathematics: Post your doubts here!

Actually it would be correct. You can try yourself It's the midpoints that matter, Dug. So take the class 19.5-34.5. It's midpoint is 27. And so on. Do you have that stats book by Chambers and Cranshaw?

    PML (N) rocks :)

I actually felt a little sorry for you. Everyone was posting against you. But after you posted that picture, I don't think anyone could sympathize with you. I was politically neutral before you posted that. Now I support Imran Khan. People like you make me sick. I'd suggest you remove that picture.

    Mathematics: Post your doubts here!

Dug I'm pretty sure you calculate the class width by using the class boundaries. Then using the class width you can calculate the midpoint! If not, could you provide me with some reference stating otherwise?

    PML (N) rocks :)

Sure you are, child. We won't shatter your perfect little world. Don't worry. Remain calm.
