    Don't know, I don't have the marking scheme with me. :(

    Why bother

    Why does everyone assume that knowing what is going to come in the test automatically means you didn't study for anything else?

    Which reaction has an enthalpy change equal to the standard enthalpy change of formation of propane? A. 3C(g) + 4H2(g) -> C3H8(g) B. 3C(g) + 8H(g) -> C3H8(g) C. 3C(s) + 4H2(g) -> C3H8(g) D. 3C(s) + 4H2(g) -> C3H8(l) Why?

    Chemistry: Post your doubts here!

    Okay, here goes: CO2(g) + H2(g) -> CO(g) + H2O(g) CO2 is being broken, so instead of -283, we take +283 H2O is being formed, so we use -286 BUT it is being formed in gaseous state, not liquid state, so we also take +44. 283 + 44 - 286 = +41. So the answer is C. :)

    I think the answer is C. Check in marking scheme if this is correct. If so, I'll explain what I did.

    MgOH is basic, so the ammonium chloride neutralizes it, since it's acidic.

    3FeO + 2Al -> 3Fe + Al2O3 Enthalpy change of formation of FeO: -266 Enthalpy change of formation of Al2O3: -1676 -Since FeO is breaking, not forming, you flip the sign. So it becomes +266. And since it's 3 molecules of FeO, you multiply it by 3, so it's +798. -Al2O3 is forming, so it is...

    Chemistry: Post your doubts here!

    Really? Wouldn't that mean it has 5 bonds then? Because one pi bond has 2 bonds, so 2 pi bonds... That's 4 bonds already. Then a sigma on TOP of that? Or am I making a mistake somewhere?

    Why bother

    I like how you suddenly switched to relatively better grammar when I mentioned it. ;) Anyway, yeah, you DID generalize. You specifically stated so. Don't try denying it, because you can scroll up and see for yourself... Do you seriously believe that your thread is going to stop anyone from...

    Why bother

    The word "brah" seems to irritate you quite a bit... Anyway, you're taking things way too far with the doctor thing. You're implying that a person who knows what may come in a practical beforehand is somehow predisposed to "cheating" and will do so throughout his life. If you want to get...

    Why bother

    Oh, right... Because I knew in advance that I'm going to be doing plasmolysis in onion cells for a practical, therefore during a surgery, I'm going to screw everyone up. Makes a lot of sense. Doctors know beforehand what kind of surgery they're going in for, it's not like they enter the...
