    Mathematics: Post your doubts here!

But why do we have to use mid-values here..?

    Chemistry Paper 2

It IS -129.. look: Both reactions will go towards the empty box and those will have equal values. So using vectors, x - 726 = (2 * -286) + (-283) x - 726 = -855 x = -129 E: I just realized that you did ΔH = ΔH products - ΔH reactants. Hess' Law isn't applied like that.

GT for Chemistry paper 22 AS.

I think both would probably be acceptable, no?

    Chemistry 21

No, you only lose marks if you misspell an actual chemistry term, for example writing "chlorine" instead of "chloride". Electrophillic is something minor so I highly doubt you will lose a mark there.

    Chemistry Paper 2

I am quite sure it was -129, see this. x works out to be -129. This is how I solved it.

    Chemistry Paper 2

So that everything is in a whole number (empirical formula is when the atoms are in their lowest proportionals which are still integers).

Chemistry Paper 22: Discussion and Grade Threshold

There is no e.c.f. for writing structural formulas.. I haven't seen it happen in any marking scheme. :\

    @ladmireblue: Yes.

Chemistry Paper 22: Discussion and Grade Threshold

Hydrolysis is definitely the right answer. I've seen it written in many places, including chemguide. I didn't know though and got that wrong. Oh well, it was just 1 mark. :|

    Mathematics: Post your doubts here!

I think I get it now. Basically, the 2 Gs are separated as a separate component so there isn't a need to use 3! for them. I think this was a pretty tricky question though. :( P&C sucks.

    Mathematics: Post your doubts here!

But there are also 3 Gs... so don't we have to divide by 3! twice?

WAS EVER CAMBRIDGE QUESTION PAPER LEAKED?!!

I think Physics P33 got leaked this year..? I'm not sure but I believe some people posted the topics which would come and I think they did.

    Mathematics: Post your doubts here!

Help please: Find the number of different ways in which the 9 letters of the word GREENGAGE can be arranged if exactly two of the Gs are next to each other. The answer is 5040.. but I'm confused because there's 3 Gs and I don't know how to find the # of ways where 2 Gs are separated from the...

GT for Chemistry paper 22 AS.

I don't understand why people think it is an equilibrium reaction when there was no equilibrium sign, no mention of equilibrium and it was clearly written in bold 'rate of formation', which means this should all be reaction kinetics stuff.

    Chem P2: How was it?

I don't think there is, but maybe in the mathematical part (where you had to find moles of H atoms) there might. Also if people want to discuss the paper they could just do so in the XPF chatroom no?

Chemistry Paper 22: Discussion and Grade Threshold

lol... the GT will never be higher than 50 for an A, in 10 years the highest I've seen it be was 48. I think it will be around 46-48 this time. My paper went pretty good.. expecting around 55-58 IA.

Is this even in the syllabus?

    Chem P2 any guesses ?????

No, because paper 21 is also tomorrow and paper 23 is on 22 May.

Draw the structure of CH3F, and you will realize the the flourine atom isn't bonded to a hydrogen.
