    help needed here!! in O/N/08 ques 1 part d the answer is supposed to be greater fer bth i and ii shouldnt it b same as the material is of the same mass and so it'll obv have the same weight and extension therefore will be same? :/

    because when u act draw the structure of CH4, u see tht 1 carbon atom is bonded to four other hydrogen atoms and tht's why u multiply the bond energy by 4...whereas in 2O2, O shares a double bond with another O atom and is therefore multiplied by 2.. for understanding bond energies u will have...
