    Chemistry Doubts: Paper 1 & 2

    Concentration = Moles/Volume. The unit is mol./dm^3. Therefore, Volume = 250/1000 = 0.250 dm^3 Moles of Iodine = Mass/Mr = 2.54/(127*2) = 0.01 Concentration = 0.01/0.250 = 0.04 mol./dm^3. Answer C.

    Le Chatelier's Principle states that if a change is brought about to a body in dynamic equilibrium, the body acts to oppose the change. Now, this can be applied to the following factors: - Pressure: Increasing the pressure decreases the volume, which means that body will work to oppose the...

    This is a simple test for measuring the amount of oxygen in air; The oxygen in the 100cm^3 of air reacts with the iron in the presence of water forming an oxide of iron (rust) which is powdered. The volume of gas hence decreases to about 79% which would be Nitrogen and other constituents of air.

    Consider the formula P=I^2R, If resistance is kept constant and the power is decreased, the current would increase. Similarly, as asked in the question, if the power is decreased, the current would increase hence there is a risk of over heating. For part (ii), if the power is increases, the...

    For Question 26 (b), If you've shown the triangles properly then you would know that, BC = base of triangle ABC, BD = base of triangle BCD. Taking ratios for similar triangles, BC/BD = AB/BC 6/4 = AB/6 36 = 4 AB AB = 9 cm AB = AD + DB 9 = AD + 4 AD = 5 cm.

    25 (a), kind of a trick question (but it's very easy). The Acceleration or Retardation = Gradient of Speed-Time Graph. Since the Retardation is constant (Straight Line), Just take the gradient of that line, Acceleration = 0-4/25-20 = -4/5 = -0.8 m/s^2

    Remember, Sin is +ve in second quadrant. Cos is -ve in second quadrant. Therefore, Sin ABD = 180 - b = 0.85 Cos ABD = 180 - b = -0.53 Sin ABD + Cos ABD = 0.85 - 0.53 = 0.32
