Physics exam 31 came from heeeeeel!!!!! What is wrong CIE

Re: Physics exam 31 came from heeeeeel!!!!! What is wrong CI It's because the resistance of the lamp isn't enough to bring the current and hence power down to a manageable level right? (Voltage const)

10 days without any exam !!

I think the 10 day break was ridiculously stupid from Cambridge. I mean, most people are at LEAST 3/4 done their exams, just let us finish and get them off our minds! Plus, let's face it nobody's going to really study these 10 days

Physics exam 31 came from heeeeeel!!!!! What is wrong CIE

Re: Physics exam 31 came from heeeeeel!!!!! What is wrong CI It wasn't that HARD, per se. The questions were ambiguous and it was REALLY long. Was hoping to ace it but in retrospect it's unlikely. The question about students X and Y are from both variant 2 and 3 I believe. Speaking of which...

physics paper 3 doubt! please help :(!

I can help you with the third one. Energy loss is power loss into time, and power (hence power loss) is calculated by I^2*R. The reason V isn't used is because the voltage constantly changes from point to point on the wire (think of the wire as thousands of small resistances dividing the...

physics paper 3 doubt! please help :(!

The first one is a straight horizontal line anywhere above the middle of the graph. The second one is a regular AC wave Third one is only the top halves of a regular AC wave, for what would be the bottom half the voltage is at 0. Kinda looks like a bunch of hills with flatland between

It probably wouldn't hurt to mention crystallisation of the salt either

No problem =) Actually, it's better if the exam is hard =P Harder exam = lower grade boundaries. And when I say hard I just mean higher-level thinking is required. I'm pretty sure you're capable of that so should be fine... So better chance of getting an A* with a harder paper. I know, strange...

What he said. I'm pretty sure you don't need to know the exact technique to use, so just know that diffusion can be used to separate gases

    Chemistry Revision

Alternately, what they might mean by it is if one gas is denser than the other, they just leave the gases to settle and tap off the denser one from the bottom of the container. It's unlikely though, cause that doesn't really have to do with diffusion

Cheers mate, I guess that's true. For the diffusion thing, I'm not 100% sure how it works but I know they use the different rates of diffusion to help separate things. I think it's probably like they put the gases in a container with another porous container inside and after a long time all...

    Physics paper 1 May/June2011 discussion

I know mate, it's depressing. I was hoping to completely ACE Physics but this might've screwed it up for me =( My answer's been INvalidated by mine =P Tragically, when I first saw the question I thought it was energy but then I looked at it again and figured it was current Though if enough...

Hey, had a slight doubt with experimental techniques for paper 6 and was wondering if someone could help me. It's about the types of distillation My chem teacher told me a while back that you use simple distillation for 2 liquids with boiling points with a difference of greater than 25 degrees...

    Physics paper 1 May/June2011 discussion

Quick reference needed - For the question about the Capacitor, I chose current (for an explanation validated near the beginning of this forum) though I acknowledge that it could have been wrong. I was wondering if anyone'd be able to tell me in what paper this question was seen before? Thanks
