    I think it should be A. Nitrogen undergoes a redox reaction, where it itself is reduced (+3 to 0) and oxdises NaOH. If both oxidation and redox were to happen on nitrogen it would be disproportion.

    @Hassam: I too chose D for Q.40 Btw what do you chose for Q.29? The one about the change in chiral atoms. I strongly believe its B ; +1, -1 What was your answer to the Nitrogen question, about the redox? I chose A :S

    Its a fact that elements which have a diagonal relationship in the periodic table will have similar chemical properties. Be and Al form a diagonal!

    @working hard:I get your point.. you are saying it does both(synthesise and transport lipids) but if we were to chose one....then we'd give preference to SYNTHESIS...I concluded the same thing...but couldn't find a legitimate logic or a book which says so. BTW, golgi apparatus does NOT transport...

    You guys are missing the point. According to the second question SER synthesizes AND transports lipids and steroids. So the answer to the first question can be C or D.

    should be D.....making it more alkaline means adding -OH.....therefore according to Le Chatliers principal, the -OH should be converted to oppose the change....this shifts the equilibrium to the right....therefore more V2+
