    Chemistry: Post your doubts here!

Once ethene has been polymerised, it acts like an alkane i.e. an organic compound without a C=C bond. Hence, the formation of alcohol using KMnO4 is not possible. A and D are eliminated. Secondly, hydration of alkane doesn't result result in the formation of an alcohol. We are only left with C...

Can any one suggest me a good book for biology

This is the best book around. Like it or not, you've got to study it. It's precisely written according to the syllabus and you won't get anything out of it except for the applications part in A2. If you really want to go for detailed reading, get the Campbell's 9th edition. OR you can go for...

FOR THOSE WHO GOT A* AT A-LEVEL...AND THE OTHERS TOO!

Pick any subject and you'll find it's A2 more difficult than it's AS. Chemistry is no exception. There is more to learn and more to apply, making it tougher. You've got to make sure that you work hard enough to score atleast an A. If you really desire an A* then give the whole A'levels. I'm sure...

Does your school have 2 year AS maths? Should i take it?

It's absurd to do A'level Maths in 2 years. It will just waste time that you can use to prepare for other subjects at the end. Clear it up in one year and you'll be free of it. AS level is not that tough, but you'll require some extra work in order to ensure a high grade.

    Chemistry: Post your doubts here!

First of all remember that one ring acts as the same as on double bond in calculations. If this compound, C20H28O, was an alkane how many Hydrogen atoms would it have? 20*2+2=42, right? 42-28=14 For each double bond 2 hydrogen atoms are reduced. In this case there are 14/2=7 double type of...

The indicator doesn't makes difference to the titration. Usually, 3-4 drops can easily bring a change, but if it doesn't adding more of it won't be a problem and you titration values will remain the same.

    AS/A2 seperate or together? [value-wise]

If you think you have grasped the concepts clearly then there is no reason why you should delay your exams. Even if there are a few problems, you can work on your weaknesses in the next 5 months and appear for both AS and A2 level. So that's my recommendation.
