    CRICKET anyone?

Re: CRICKET ANYONE I hate to admit it but the best captain currently is the Indian captain Dhoni. His analysis of the game from behind the stumps is perfect. No matter which team he captained he took them to success. He won everything, which proves his tactical prowess. He started by winning...

How are your exams going on, people!?!?!?

Re: How are your exams going on, kids!?!?!? It's a rule of XPF. Even if you wrote it for Pakistanis, write in English, I am sure they'll understand. I just translated what you wrote in Urdu. Bacho=Kids. :P

    fooled the invigilator

Even-though the topic is locked, I am posting so that the confusion is removed once and for all. This topic has been widely discussed over XPF and I think it should be clear by now. ES and MS series are both allowed in the CIE & Edexcel examinations. The calculators that are not allowed in the...

Re: PAPERZ KAISAY HO RAHAY HAN BACHO !?!?!? **Use English when conversing on XPF so that everyone, from different linguistic backgrounds, understands. The topic should especially be in English. Hence, I am changing the name of the topic.**

Maths, Addmaths and Statistics: Post your doubts here!

Re: O'level Maths, Addmaths and Statistics help available he For that question, draw a line from the P and Q to the center of the diameter and label it O. AO=10cm=PO=QO. First take out angle AOQ and AOP by simple cosine rule and change it into radians. Now you need to find 5 different areas in...

    Football/Soccer anyone?

Re: FOOTBALL OR SOCCER ANYONE???? Fabregas would be a good addition to the near perfect squad of barcelona. They'll need to replace Xavi in 2-3 years time, and Fabregas would be the perfect successor to the mid-field throne at Camp Nou. The 2-3 years would be enough for Fabregas to get...

Maths, Addmaths and Statistics: Post your doubts here!

Re: O'level Maths, Addmaths and Statistics help available he Q8 of the paper you have given is not as tricky as it seems. The marking scheme explains it all. n(C' ∩ D') are the number of homes that neither have a dishwasher, nor a computer. That is the place empty in the rectangle and not...

    Mathematics paper 3, modulus inequalities.

Okay! Thankyou for your help. But I already know this method. I don't want to do the questions on the paper (I'll deal with them), I want to learn; the method.

    Mathematics paper 3, modulus inequalities.

No, this method also works on other questions. And no, it's not enough. What if you square on both sides and you get a cubic or a quartic equation. So then you need the other method. The marking scheme mentions a 'critical' value. I know what a critical value is but I don't get how you can...

    Mathematics paper 3, modulus inequalities.

Yes, ruzache, that's what is taught in the school. Thankyou, for the long reply. I know this method and I have been solving modulus questions like this for the past 6 months. What I want to know is that how do you find the critical value and stuff. I need to learn the exact critical value method...

    Mathematics paper 3, modulus inequalities.

You are doing it wrong man. It'll be x-1<2x and x-1>-2x. And so you get x>1/3 and x>-1. The final answer is x>1/3 and x<-1. My question is that why do you eliminate x<-1 and the final answer is only x>1/3. I found out the answers correctly but no idea why x<-1 was eliminated. You didn't find the...

    Mathematics paper 3, modulus inequalities.

Are you sure? x-1<2x and x-1>-2x is same? I don't think so. x-1>-2x will become 1-x<2x, which is NOT the same as x-1<2x.

    Mathematics paper 3, modulus inequalities.

@Wellwisher=No, I'll be giving As and A2 together next year. I am preparing for the finals of my school exams. ks136=I am looking for the number line method, this is quite obvious. Do you know that? And what about the critical value? Plus, why didn't you use -2x in one of the inequalities you...
