    Particle models are sufficent for M1. Just assume that everything behaves like a particle (has mass but no volume). You'll only need torque if you do M2 or Further Maths.

    You can draw on the answer sheet. Just make sure you denote everything you labelled on your drawing to clarify for the examiners. They might not know what point M in a diagram means if you don't show them!

    Memorise answers, read ER, spam past year papers since questions repeat a lot. Doesn't help for long-term efficient studying but is the best way to secure an A.

    Basically equate tan 5theta to 0, and reject any values than gives tan theta = 0 (0) as it is not the solution of the eqn intended. Then find theta that with limits of (-pi, pi)

    Product of roots of a quartic equation. Then explain that the positive root is taken as both tan pi/5 and tan2pi/5 are positive.
