2012 comin near...................

Assalamulaikum
As it is known to every1 2011 is ending n 2012 is too near and just 2 days ago i saw a complete documentary on National Geographic channel showing the elements which are causing the ice caps to melt, drowning the entire world or in other words "THE END OF THE WORLD".
I have personally met ppl who are actually bothered about the world endin the comin year. This actually made me think that it is "SHIRK" for the muslims to believe in anything as such.
Say: "I do not know whether what you are promised is close or whether my Lord will appoint a longer time before it." He is the Knower of the unseen, and doesnot divulge His Unseen to anyone. (Surat-al-Jinn,25-26).
Therefore, we shoudn't have a belief in these predictions as future is only known to ALLAH.

Absolutelty so quit watching these useless documentaries and films on such topics now and use ur time so that u benefit rather then seeing these !

This is so true. I don't know exactly whether we can call it shirk, or which type of shirk it is, but it is so sad to see the Muslims believing it. Some even come to the extent of trying to say that some Hadith & verses in the Quran imply that this will happen.

I remember when the swine flu epidemic was going on, some newspaper here in Saudi wrote something about Nibiru (called Planet X by some). Immediately people believed it, and even on one forum they were debating whether swine flu is considered one of the signs of the Day of Judgement, because there is a Hadith that says that pigs will be killed before the Day of Judgement. It is so ridiculous that they forgot to read the full Hadith, which says in the beginning that Prophet Isa (AS) will kill the pigs, not normal people!

May Allah guide us and them to the truth.

Exactly. Some signs are do given bt interpretting them in a wrong way is wrong. We should all just do good deeds and prepare ourselves for the Day of Judgement rather than bothering for all this!

You know! If we die today, this life will be over for us, no matter when the world comes to an end! So we should try to work (pray for me) , as we are supposed to .....not taking into account when the Day of Judgement will be! We don't know if we're gonna live for the next second.

CORRECT...... muslims should have very firm faith. As said by XPFMember we shoudl concentrate on our own lives and try living according to Islam. We do not know the time of our death. So we should be ready for it and prepared for it every moment.
