A level Chemistry class tests, advice

I've observed in recent months that often my concepts in Chemistry are quite good but I don't score that high in class tests, or sometimes in Past papers questions. I score Ds , Es and Cs in chemistry class tests , like that and that's when my preparation is quite good! My Chemistry teacher told me to improve my handwriting more, and to skim through marking schemes . He also told me that marking schemes are important in A level Chemistry, and examiners are quite strict in checking exam papers with mark schemes as compared to in A level Physics.
If any one here got any good advice regarding this subject, please share!
Plus, I'm not frustrated at it, and I'm not being ungrateful.
Thanks in advance!

Best advice I can give you is to do as many past papers as you possibly can. A lot of the time, the mark scheme specifies very specific words and equations you need to use in your answers. Past papers were my main revision technique, and I managed to get an A in AS chemistry. But first, make sure that your concepts are clear and you understand everything!
