5 are pretty much enough! Their minimum requirement is 4 subjects. So yes, an A*/A in all of them will secure you a place =]

^ Agreed!
Or take 6 in AS and continue with only 4 in A2 (Eco and T.S only in AS). This is what many students do!
Good Luck =)

Thankyou for the reply......i know the requirement is 4 subjects but aren't these schools supposed to accept only very extraordinary students like 8 As or 7 As....or should i concentrate on these 5 and maybe aim for distinction.....?

Hey man
Taking 5 subjects and doing good dosnt really have any advantage over a candidate who took 3!
My suggestion look at the university website and see their requirements and extra curricular activities and blah blah
further more!!! you have a gooos chance to do AICE diploma! look at the CIE website

That depends on whether the school offers it or not. @anything576: Does it?

just get a hold of the endorsed book and a teacher to go through your practice work! and inshAllah you will end up with an A
I did it with my friend this time and got a D, B in one component as usual, but a surprising U in another ( Allah knows why! my teacher said my worst case scenario would be a C! my english isnt that bad.
Got an A* in the Olevels!
so i gave the component for a recheck and praying for better result! please guys pray for me, I gave my AICE this june(which was a drastic decision to take) and got 290 out of 360 and was awarded a merit! and if i get an A in english now after the recheck then I would get a 320 out of 360 and pass with a distinction!
Is it really bad to crave for good result? I cud have done better but stupid depression made it really hard for me.
And I would suggest other ppl to do this diploma too! its really good and it did teach me a lot of stuff
continuing A2 anyway...my AS was like a taster and i am repeating phy and chem. My AS year was hard for me but it was equally rewarding too! Alhamdullilah!

It doesn't matter, how many subjects you've got. What matters is the number of A*s. So get all stars in the subjects you have. The combination you've chosen isn't that bad. I have a friend with the same one. What you need to do right now, is get a good score in SATs. Like a very good one: 2250+. That's only when you'll be able to get into MIT e.t.c. Plus, get into extra-curricular activities and excel in one of them.

All of the above comments are true.
One thing I would like to add is that it's not just your grades, the interview process it quite vital. You have to show them your extra curricular and leadership skills. They only take the best of the best!
Plus, before applying consider your finances because these universities are extremely extremely expensive. Most of them won't give scholarship but may give loan instead that you have to pay them back in certain number of years. So basically you will be paying anyway.

In the coming January, for which you have to start preparing right now. If it is required, you may reappear in the next October and then SAT2 in November. For you, May/June is not an option because that may clash with your AS levels. So make sure you have your first attempt in January and you don't delay it. Otherwise, it gets nasty in the end when you have only one try at it.
