its only inelastic if they stick together THEN eventually move out in the same direction

Here it is very simple... :¬ (Use the formula of weight to prove g = W / m)
Weight (W) = mass (m) times (*) acceleration of free fall (g)
So now g = W/ m that is g is the ratio weight / mass.
Hence answer is C
