please read this equation thoroughly

carbonic acid + sodium hydroxide -------> sodium carbonate + water

QUESTION
is sodium carbonate a base or a salt

Reason for being a base : it is a metal carbonate
Reason for being an acid: it is a product of reaction between an alkali and an acid

please give ur opinion

it is a salt Sodium Carbonate but it reacts with acid to give Salt+Carbondioxide+Water

hey people if u checked the chemistry igcse book . bases are proton acceptors. they can be metal oxides, hydroxides, carbonates,or hydrogen carbonate

btw is calcium oxide soluble or insoluble
