bio p5 error bars

hey..!!
i m having a problem in bio error bars. I read it in my book that for error bars v need to multiply standard error by 2. This is confusing me. Can anyone plz tell me if it really needed to b multiplied by 2 or can v just draw the +- Sm value??

Always +-(2 multiply standard error) so if u really c it, over all the difference is 4x S.E
