Our bio teacher is making us do some coursework about biodiversity n stuff. He said he's gonna mark it and send it to CIE, and it will account for our A level grades, but I checked the syllabus and there's nothing about any coursework. So am I missing something or there isn't actually any coursework?

Your teacher made this up, so that you people actually work harder for it. Coursework is not graded in Alevels. But, your teacher may count in your school result and then add these marks to form your expected grades. That he/she has to sent to the CIE. So by sending to CIE, he means this.
