: A jockey is a metal slider that wears away a line of the insulation so it can make electrical contact with the metal underneath.

Range: between 1cm and 10cm
Precision: 0.01cm or o.1mm
Examples of usage: diameter of a tube

A better answer would be to tell how you would take the reading from the center. E.g mark the position of the center on the lens holder.
