its a response to a stimuli
in whch the conditions are returned to normal..
ie if blood glucose level rises above normal a negative feedback will initiate n bring it back to normal.. by increasing production of insulin n uptake of glucose by cells

@silenthunter,
u know muscles work ironically....
so v start 4m here...
bending a joint is flexion...so a muscle causing flexion is a flexor
and straightening is extension...so a muscle causing extenion is a extensor
Now,
biceps lies on humerus..
it has 2 tendons originating at scapula...
its lower end has a tendon on the radius...
the contraction of biceps causes the arm to be pulled upwards towards the scapula...
And so is this flexion..!!
Triceps hve 3 tendons on humerus and origin on scapula...
its lower end continues as a single tendon inserted on the olecranon process of ulna...
therein contraction of triceps brings abt the extension of forearm at low elbow joint..!!

And this dig...not much of a help but gives a rough idea...

Hope i helped..!!

extensor muscles are the ones which help in the extension of parts of the legs. those muscles which will help in extending the leg and foot are the extensor ones.
