Thank you! :) But this is what I read somewhere else? "The Supervisor will collect the forbidden calculators before the exams begin without providing a replacement." "No allowance will be made should the calculator fail to function properly for any reason or should a mistake be made in operating a calculator"

Well these are the rules as set by all exam boards for these examinations. Your school or exam centre may have policies to prevent you from being disqualified, as you say by taking away prohibited calculators - however the rules say it is forbidden to even take these into the exam room. It is quite uncommon you will have an advanced barred calculator as the rules state they are quite expensive and rarely used by schools. The rules also state that the supervisor is allowed to give you a fresh and 'wiped' calculator (i.e. not someone else's), whether your school will do this is another matter. The most important thing is to ensure your calculator is wiped (i.e. no memory log) and that it is WORKING! The last thing you want is to have a faulty calculator in a maths exam!

Just to be clear, I have a Casio fx-570ES but it isn't on the banned calculators list. Will I be permitted to use this calculator in the exam?

I have fx-991es calculator by casio and its also not there in the banned lists. :)
But i think why to take unnecessary risks?
If they tell this calculator is not allowed at the end moment den we would face a big problem and our first exam is Maths !!!!!
:( :p

I guess its alowed...

As long as it does not do any of the restricted tasks such as algebraic manipulation or graphical differentiation and does not connect to the internet or store databanks you should be fine. My advice to all those unsure is to get a certified exam calculator, they do not cost much and are safe as you can open them before the exam so they won't run out of battery.

Does being able to solve quadratic equations count as algebraic manipulation? I guess I'll buy another calculator to be safe either way though.

What about FX-85ES Plus? Just bought it so that dont have to use my old banned calculator, apparently the 991MS is banned because of d{dx function or whatever it is. Talking in relevance to 2013 series, off course.
