luk this is the most simple statement:
1.my teacher went to Cambridge workshop and she told us that u will be given space on the question paper to write the ans ......if you want to write more that simply write in the last line "continued" and continue on the extra sheet given by your invigilator
2.and the change in the (b) part question will be applied to OCT/NOV papers 2012 on wards
........Please let me know if the changing of pattern is CONFIRMED ...cuz its imp n i m worried !!!!!!! :'(

Hello there, people.
Here is how the paper is set for this year.

Paper 1
Q1 : Quranic passages.
For this question, out of the ones given, we must attempt any 2 Quranic passages, and for each passage we must answer two questions.
(a) The main theme of the passage.
(b) ---This question is revised--- How is the theme of this passage important in the lives of Muslims today?

[Total marks for this question are 8, which are awarded 4 for (a) parts and 4 for (b) parts. Yes, don't be confused, the examiner checks both (a) parts first, followed by both (b) parts.]

Q2 : This question is compulsory, it consists of part (a) which is of 10 marks, and part (b) which consists of 4 marks. [10+4]

Now out of the rest of the question's given, you must attempt ANY TWO of your choice. Which means Q3 and Q4 will be of your choice.

Q3 : Part (a) consisting of 10 marks, and part (b) of 4 marks. [10+4]

Q4 : Part (a) consisting of 10 marks, and part (b) of 4 marks. [10+4]

So, adding up the marks together. 8 + 14 + 14 + 14 = 50 marks total.

Paper 2
Q1 : Hadith.
For this question, from the hadith given, you must choose any 2, and attempt 2 questions each for them.
(a) What are the main teachings in this hadith?
(b) How can Muslims put these teachings to use?

[Total marks for this question are 8, in which 4 are awarded for both (a) parts, and the rest 4 for the (b) parts.]

Q2 : This question is compulsory, and it consists of part (a) for 10 marks, and part (b) for 4 marks. [10+4]

Now, from the rest of the given questions, you must choose any two. Which means Q3 and Q4 will be of your choice.

Q3 : Part (a) consisting of 10 marks, and part (b) of 4 marks. [10+4]

Q4 : Part (a) consisting of 10 marks, and part (b) of 4 marks. [10+4]

So, to add them up. 8 + 14 + 14 + 14 = 50 marks total.

Paper 1 + Paper 2 => 50 + 50 = 100

Now that we're done with the pattern, some things to be kept in mind are :
-There will be space given for each question, but if you need extra space, you may ask the invigilator for extra sheets.
-Do not spend too much time on each part of Question 1, because they consist of about only 2 marks each. Most candidates seem to spend alot of time here, being the first question, and then they feel a shortage of time for the rest.
-Check your paper 2 to 3 times, once done. So that you may correct any grammatical mistakes etc. Also check your number of questions, to avoid missing out on any.

Hope I helped, good luck. :)
