Heat isn't right, the heat should be on the salt.. The place where they were placed is right.

i was solving a question on chromatography..nd d mark scheme says:
"use of (named) solvent (1) not water"
so wat would d solvent be??

the solvent shud be anything in which the solution is soluble

A student investigated the green colour in grass.
The student followed these instructions.
1 Cut the grass into small pieces and crush the grass by grinding with sand and ethanol.
2 Decant the liquid.
3 Investigate which colours are present in the green solution.

decant mean pouring the liquid to seperate liquid and solid (not accurate)

excess mean that the solid in the reaction is more than required at a fixed temp.
