Mass Number of oxygen is the neutron number ie: 16
A.m.u refers to the mass of protons/neutron/electrons , however if we add it up in an oxygen atom (8 protons * 1.amu)+(8 neutrons*1.amu)+ (8 electrons*1/1837) we get 16.004 , which rounds off to 16 mass number of the atom
Therefore we can say that mass number= a.m.u
