so supposing a conical flask/burette has recently been used for titration and is washed out with acid/alkali, what steps are carried out before the flask/burette can be reused?

this is only for Accurate apparatus ..... when u wash it with distilled water it will leave some drops of water on the wall , by washing with the same stuff which is inside ur burrette so it will reduce error!

this contradicts everything.
First of all, the flask contained the alkali, but at neutralisation, there would be a slight excess of acid, right?
Secondly, is tap water acidic or alkaline?
Thirdly, any one in his right mind would of course use a dry flask instead of a wet one, containing no drops of water?
Fourthly, this experiment was initially carried out without having known the accurate values for titration.
