JAckpotttt!~It was Easy, the last question answer was :-
1. Place each Corrosion inhibitor in 3 test tube of equal amount.
2. Take 3 steel nails and place them in 3 water bowl.
3. Place each inhibitor in bowl.
5. Leave it undisturbed for 3-4 days in presence of air.
6. After 4 days, Remove the rust which will be Flaky brown solid (FE2OH3.xH2O) and dry them and weigh each of them.
7. The one which has more weigh will be least effective corrosion inhibitor and one with lower weight will most effective corrosion inhibitor.
JAckpotttt!~
nailed it
Er maybe not lol, I saw a question similiar to this in the past papers.. didn't mention anything about weight of nails.
Sec if I find it I'll link it.
gosh man~
ive seen an almost similar question in an old pastpaper
cant remeber wich though
n i remeber it mentioned sth abt mass..
specified number / mass of nails (1)FOUND IT! And nothing about mass x)
http://www.xtremepapers.com/papers/CIE/Cambridge IGCSE/Chemistry (0620)/0620_w10_ms_62.pdf (it's the last qustion btw)
it does mention compare and describe results isnt it??
so all i did was repeat exactly wat was in this ms aaannnnddd give em ma conclusion
thats all ding dong
chillax
n dont get so worked up~
We will inshallahLol I'm not.. hopefully we both get full marks from that question x)
btw mass is mentioned on da first lineWe will inshallah
btw mass is mentioned on da first line
ps tell me if ya need glasses
Lol, thats for weighing the mass of nails before the experiment to make sure they all weigh the same.
What you "Wrote" was weigh the mass of nails at the end of the RUSTING to show that the lightest one had rusted the least :S
Please tell me if you need help in understanding mark schemes
dude, if u hav to kno if they lost mass at da end of da experiment, u got to know wat they weighed at beginnin in da first place
ill ask anyone but u since u hav a hard time understandin them urself
haLets just drop it and wait for our results in august :s
Dude that's wrong, you have to DRY and WEIGH the rust (FE2O3.XH2O) to check which inhibitor is most effective .. how can you weigh the the water or seeing by yourself..FOUND IT! And nothing about mass x)

& i compared this answers with hundreds of geniuses in hall .. they wrote same what i wrote
hey ppl~Er , by seeing the color change on the steel nails? You can tell which one rusted the most..
And even if we needed to write that, it would be 2 marks or 1. It'd be "compare results" so it's fine.. I'll still get around 5/7
