Chemistry paper 33 people!!! I need guesstimates :Search:
Heres what i know: Its gonna be KMnO^4 titration similar somehow to Nov 2009 p33
there MIGHT be a heating question including a crucible!! I had a peek at my lab and found all this prepared stuff :p
Salt analysis will be as usual.

FOR Chemistry PAPER 33!!!!!!!!!!

hydrated ammonim salt titrated with KMnO4
usual salt analysis
one thermal question

We have to titrate ammonium nitrate with KMn04 or would we need to oxidize potassium iodide in the presence of ammonium nitrate and then titrate the resulting solution with sodium thiosulphate? :|

see question no.1 in june2008-31
a similar question is expected!

FOR PHYSICS ASLEVEL PAPER 33

what we hav been practicing is the electricity one with beads in place of resistors.its very simple..and ya in the oscillation one we will be having a cylinder instead of a pendulam bob..

i doubt anything concerning magnets or diodes on A2 level will come for As practicals, hmm, they might just be giving diode as just another component of the circuit system, in past years there were things like that, but the procedure is still the same, you will just have to either measure current, volt etc. and draw the graph, and by the way it will be helpful to review the graphs for diodes. before going for exam.

YOU WILL NEED
1.retort stand.
2.bob/cylinder
3.stopwatch.
4.thread
5.multimeters
6.batteries
7.clamps.
8.resistors.
9.contacts

Isn't Nov 09 closer to the mark? Then again, thanks, but the physics part i've heard from many teachers that there will be no electrcity practical what with all the fluctuations in Pakistan, its gonna be moments of forces for sure and an oscillation experiment!!!!!

I have been hearing the same thing about chemistry p 33 but its all wrong because there is an explosion if ammonium nitrate is mixed with KMnO4!!!!!!!!!!!! so there is some other hydrated salt for sure.
and i heard moments involving prisms and rulers is coming in phys 33 there is no electricity question in phys 33.

Its gonna be FeSO^4 i think, we practised that in the nov 2009 p33 practical!
And the physics info is correct, theres also gonna be an oscillation question involving paper clips i think :p

1-weight an empty evaporating dish
2-then add solution to evaporating dish and measure mass of solution
3-then heat it up to dryness
4-calculate mass of residue and mass of water
5- calculate=mass of residue /mass of water *100

My chemistry teacher said it's gonna be hydrated copper sulfate.
We need to find out the number of molecules of water of crystallisation present.
