pls can someone explain for me question 7d) which is " one mole of fat reacts with......................moles of iodine molecules."

the past paper is May/june 07

Going through the entire question D..

100g of fat reacts with 86.2g of iodine.
884g of fat reacts with 762g of iodine.
Now work out moles:

Fat = 884/884 = 1 mol.

Iodine = 762/(127x2) = 762/254 = 3

=> 1 mole of fat reacts with 3 moles of iodine molecules.
=> There are 3 double bonds in one molecule of fat, as One mole of I2 reacts with 1 double bond.
