well i did it part b rong for some damn reason i dun knw.wat u was supposed to do was to use the lower bound for 4m string i.e 395cm and upper bound for 10 small pieces i.e 5.5(upper bound for 1 piece) mltiply 10 =55.now subtract 55 from 395 it gives u 340!
i dun knw how i got it rong damn it!!!

Lower bound of string was 395.

Shortest length of string left would be if we take the lower bound of string(395) and upper bound of pieces of string (5.5)
10 pieces of string= 55cm.

Length left = 395-55=340cm.
