Bro u r getting it wrng u can just show off with these subs but wont get any special credit
This is ridiculous! There is no such thing as a double credit subject! One A grade is equal to one A grade, it does not matter whether it's AICT or Further Maths. The point is, universities sometimes give preference to hard subjects like Further Maths but it does not mean an A in Further Maths will be counted as 2 A grades. Similarly universities do not prefer easy subjects like General paper and AICT, but it does not mean that an A in such subjects will be counted as 0.5 A grades. Universities will judge your result based on your subject combination - grades are not the only thing that counts!
It's not about what you or I think. Opinions of people will vary. But the list published by Cambridge and the top UK Universities is concrete - they have stated clearly that they regard AICT as a soft subject. So you have to agree with them, it's the fact.U think AICT an easy Subject then think again!!

I've no idea about universities in Pakistan. I'm talking about world's top universities like Oxford, Cambridge and UCL. Top universities prefer computing over ICT. The same goes for universities in my country; here in Bangladesh universities don't even recognise ICT.But U know what pak uni prefer ICT over computing and they give it a true value as an imporrtant subject like phy chem etc

But the world's best universiy thinks Computing is tougher. (They only consider ICT if it's taken as a fourth subject)I heard and my principal told ICT is tough and has more value as compared to computing and its tough to get A*s in ICT as compared to computing too!
ICT is more of a business subject than a technical one. Computing is a science subject and is useful for prospective engineering, computer science and physics undergrads. The difficulty level between the two will vary from person to person.
Paper 2 and Paper 4 of Computing has no similarity with AICT. Around 40% of Paper 1 and Paper 3 of Computing is similar to AICT, however the requirements of the two subjects are different. In AICT, you will learn about the applications of IT and it's impact in everyday life. Computing deals with more technical stuffs like programming, computer architecture and things related to how the computer system works. They are almost the same!!! I saw their pprs they dont have much new !!
Soo I have a chance to drop AICT and take computing!! should i do it or AICT is f9 cox i wanna do software engineering!Paper 2 and Paper 4 of Computing has no similarity with AICT. AICT has very little to do with software engineering. The first and foremost skill of a software engineer is to develop software for which you must know programming. AICT syllabus has no programming modules whereas in Computing you learn the basics of programming in AS and develop a software in A2 - so Computing will give you a ''beautiful'' base in software development and computer science in general . In AICT you only get to learn how to use various application software packages which are mostly related to business and commercial stuffs like DB and Spreadsheet, you won't learn programming in AICT. So Computing is a much better choice.SO I

An A* is an A*. Such grade is an asset - no matter what subject. Just because you got A* in O level ICT does not mean you have to take it A levels. I would recommend you to take Computing in A level instead of ICT.and i did ICT in o levels and got A* was that useless
