equation help

can someone please help me solve this equation??
k2 + 5k – 300 = 0.

the answers should be 15 and –20...
i just cant get it.. :x

from that equation..u get this

k^2+5k-300 =0
(k+20)(k-15) =0

k+20=0 or k-15=0
k = -20 k = 15
