So after attempting some French P2 past papers I noticed that grammar is so important. So focus on tenses and conjugation.
For tenses memorize how these tenses work:

Present
Perfect
Imperfect

Future[3 forms]
Pluperfect
Conditional
Subjunctive

Present tense:

Present tense is probably the easiest tense of them all. You use it when you are doing something now or as a habit. For example: I'am playing football or I play football(habit). To form it is also easy, you just need to conjugate the verbs.

Past tense aka. Perfect & Imperfect:

In french past tenses are called the perfect and imperfect. They are used to describe something that happened in the past. The perfect is uch easier to form than the imperfect but you need to learn them both.

Perfect:

1)Find the infinitive of the verb
2) Change the endings -er is replaced by é -ir replaced by i and -re replaced by u
3) Done, just add the pronoun

EXAMPLE:

1) JOUER
2) JOUER-->joué
3) J'ai joué COD hier avec DarkEcilipse

NB: MOST VERBS USE AVOIRE BUT SOME WORDS ALSO USE ETRE
KNOW THE DIFFERENCE, ETRE VERBS ARE MRS VAN DER TRAMP

IMPERFECT:

Imperfect is a tad harder but it can be learnt. So here goes the steps:

1) Find the infinitive
2) Conjugate it to its nous form
3) Take the -0ns and the nous, you will be left with the stem
4) add the extensions ais ais ait ions iez aient
5) DONE
