guyz, quick paper 1 question

Hydrochloric acid reacts with which one of the following :
  • Copper (obviously not)
  • Copper (II) Carbonate
  • Copper (II) Oxide
  • Copper (II) Sulphate

Hey! i can't do that question too!! =__=
btw.. acid can't react with metal which has low reactivity series???????

(i thought acid react with all metal. pheww)

I think it would be Copper (ii) Oxide.. Mainly because, copper firstly would be too low in the reactivity series to react with the HCl itself..
So I just thought of it like preparing salts, ie, an insoluble base and an acid produces a soluble salt right? So in theory it should be Copper (ii) Oxide.

and so insoluble carbonates with dilute acid will also produce soluble salts! and here comes the confusion! :%)

GUYZ, I found the answer in another paper 1. Anyway, the answer is copper (II) oxide
And sorry for bothering all of you :)

Yeah, acid reacts with all metals except those which are below hydrogen in the reactivity series and those metals are copper, silver, gold and platinum :)
