In this question you need to write about the revelations received after the first revelation. No need to waste time writing in detail about the first revelation. You can just write a very brief intro of it, otherwise it's not needed. Write about the Quran being revealed in a period of 23 years. Mention the events of revelations, the sensations holy prophet went through. The ringing of bells, the perspiration running down his forehead. Give references of the revelations, for example the revelation that came after a short break after the first revelation "o thou a wrapped up In a mantle...." And also "and admonish thy nearest kinsmen"
Give examples, about the other people involved like hazrat Ayesha narrating the situation of holy prophet while receiving revelation. And another companion narrating his experience of being with prophet while he was receiving revelation. Write about the ways of revelation through jibrael.

This is an answer I would produce:

Muhammad ( SAW ) recieved his first revelation at fourty years of age at cave of Hira in Nigh of power, as per 97:1 of the Quran. He saw Gibraiel and was shaken by the experience. There then he recieved a new career of prophethood - to teach Allah's messages to common people. Then on, in span of 23 years Muhammad recieved revelations at different occasions.

The Prophet experienced revelations by three ways: by inspiration, from behind the screen or from Archangel Gibrael (A.S). Surah Shura says about it in following words: " It is not fitting for a man that Allah should speak to him except through inspiration or from behind a veil or by sending a messanger to reveal with Allah's permission what He Pleases" The first one is one in which no sense of Prophet came into play, not even audatory sense. Divine's Message is imbibed in him and he immidately percieved them. Secondly, from behind the screen, audatory sense of Muhammad (SAW) came into play. He listened to Allah's speech in form of ringing of a bell, Allah's speech was imbibed in him but he could not know exactly from where it was coming. This was the toughest method for Prophet as he would prespire profusely and feel heavy. Thirdly, Message was brought by Gibrael on Allah's command and delieved to Prophet (SAW). Aisha reported that Muhammad (SAW) on recieving revelation would preespire profusely even in cold winters. A companion reported that when on one occasion, Prophet put his lap on the companion's lap, revelation came and Prophet's weight grew so much that the companion though he would have his feet crushed.

The Prophet after recieving the first revelation, preached Islam to the ones who were very close to him. Then verses revealed: " And admonish thy nearest kinsmen" commanding Prophet to preach his family and tribe members. After that he recieved revelation: And expound openly of what you are commanded" thus the Prophet now preached openly. Open preaching brough sufferings and hardship on Prophet (SAW) and his followers, so the verses revealed mainly concentrated on motivation, keeping patience and promise of rewards and paradise in Hereafter. When persecution intensified, Prophet receaved orders to migrate and leave Makkah via revelations ( I think it was S. Hijr ) The Prophet when settled in Madinah, now the revelations concentrated on rules and regulations, obligations, laws of inheritence, and laws regarding women. Like intoxication made forbidden. Prophet thus recieved Divine's revelations as per situations. When Prophet's second son died in infancy, persecuters started taunting him saying him abtar, thus Surah Kausar was revealed to console him, likewise verses revealed to tell about hypocrites, plotters against Islam particularly the Jewish tribes of Madinah. Prophet was also provided with gaps in between revelations, like gap provided before Surah Duha which particularly mentions gap provided. The process of revelation ended after Muhammad ( SAW) delievered his last sermon at plain of arafat. Surah Maidah's verses revealed in following words: This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion. So, in such ways Prophet recieved revelations.
